Since 2009, “Keep Dimond Clean” volunteers and a paid crew have walked the main streets that make up the Dimond Business District (located in Oakland CA 94602) including MacArthur Blvd from Canon Ave to Lincoln Ave; Fruitvale Ave from Coloma St to Harold St; Bienati Way and parking lot; Dimond Ave, May Ct, Champion St and Montana St, and the two Park and Ride lots, collecting litter from sidewalks and gutters twice a week.
- 230 pounds of litter collected per week – that’s 12,000 pounds, or 6 tons, a year!
- 800+ volunteer hours worked annually.
- $7,500 in value donated by La Farine Bakery each year since 2009 in pastries, bread, and coffee.
